Job summary

Spire Inc. in Hattiesburg, MS is seeking a Construction Crewman to perform field tasks across our gas distribution systems.

You will assist the Construction Supervisor and Foreman with installations, repairs and related duties in a hands-on, safety-conscious environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL, plus experience with basic construction tools and heavy equipment operations in outdoor settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 months' construction or heavy equipment experience.
• Underground utility construction experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Class A CDL.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of gas mains, services and meters.
• Operate heavy equipment and power tools; dig trenches and grade.
• Signal operators, maintain machinery, and perform repairs.
• Maintain safety, traffic control, and support other departments.
