Job summary

Spire Alabama is seeking Construction Crewman to work in the Selma, Alabama Operation Center. This position will be responsible for assisting in the repair, installation and maintenance of natural gas underground piping.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 120 days. The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs, operating air tools and heavy equipment, and working outdoors in all weather, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL within 120 days of start date.
• Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and handling heavy tools.
• Experience with gas utility installation, repair or maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Excavation of main or service pipe, trenches or ditches.
• Backfilling ditches and trenches.
• Operate air tools and light duty mechanical construction equipment.
• Perform maintenance on pipe corrosion protection and repairs.
• Read reports and document work on natural gas facilities.
• Respond to hazardous conditions with proper PPE.
