Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an entry-level Gas Distribution Operator to join our team. You will contribute to safe, reliable gas distribution work and complete required training and operator qualifications as you progress.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, experience with construction tools, and the ability to obtain a CDL within 12–18 months. Local travel and outdoor work are expected, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience operating construction equipment and using construction tools.
• Must obtain CDL within 12–18 months; learners permit within 12 months if no CDL.
• Must have basic PC skills in a Windows environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on customer premises with professional, respectful conduct.
• Identify, obtain and deliver tools, materials and equipment for work.
• Operate and maintain safety standards for O&M distribution work; use maps and GPS to locate assignments.
• Support with, plan and set up work zone safety and traffic control measures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
