Job summary

Tomorrow.io is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (Defense) to bring our platform into mission environments, working with U.S. defense customers to deploy, integrate, and operationalize our weather intelligence platform.

You will partner with Business Development, Product, Engineering, and partners to embed solutions into real-world operations and shape defense offerings. You bring 4–8 years in customer-facing technical roles, plus experience deploying SaaS or cloud solutions, API integrations,

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in Solutions Engineering or similar customer-facing roles.
• Experience deploying SaaS/cloud-based software in customer environments.
• Strong understanding of API integrations, data workflows, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both engineers and operations teams.
• Experience with government/defense programs is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operationalize Tomorrow.io’s SaaS platform, APIs, and data services in defense environments.
• Travel 50%+ to customer sites and field events as the primary technical resource.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot API integrations with defense systems (Palantir Foundry, Gotham, etc.).
• Collaborate with Defense Business Development to support discovery, demos, pilots, and growth.
• Build relationships with operators and stakeholders to drive adoption and expansion.
• Capture field insights to influence product roadmap and capabilities.
• Develop deployment playbooks and technical docs for scalable implementations.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver solutions.
• Represent Tomorrow.io as a trusted technical advisor delivering measurable value.
