Transwest Mobile Truck Repair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Field Forklift Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty forklifts and mobile equipment both in the shop and on customer sites.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, strong hydraulic/electrical knowledge, the ability to read manuals and wiring diagrams, and a valid driver's license. You will mentor juniors, uphold safety protocols, and keep precise service records.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years as forklift/mechanical technician.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and engine systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on forklifts and other heavy-duty mobile equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs both in-shop and in the field at customer locations.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps/cylinders, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to evaluate equipment performance and pinpoint issues efficiently.
• Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
• Mentor junior technicians and serve as a go-to resource for complex repairs.
• Partner with service managers and parts teams to keep repairs on schedule and minimize equipment downtime.
• Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and reliable, high-quality service.
• Stay current on OEM updates, new equipment technology, and industry best practices.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
