Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Cranbury Township, NJ seeks a Forklift Technician to provide mobile repair and scheduled maintenance for material handling equipment across a defined territory. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, maintain customer relationships, and keep tools, van, and ERP paperwork up to date.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

The Forklift Technician provides mobile repair service of material handling equipment to a select customer base within a given geographic territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose & perform a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures or breakdowns within industry guidelines and profitable limits.
• Responsible for performing scheduled maintenance services to a select group of customers under service contract.
• Maintain customer relationship and document any unsafe conditions.
• Maintain appropriate types and levels of inventory to effectively service equipment in territory.
• Remain current with training and repair technology as scheduled through RNJ.
• Promote company image and products and assist with aftermarket sales of the same.
• Maintain service van and tools in safe working condition.
• Enter internal and external road/shop service billing into ERP system.

Work Hours:

Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm with a half hour lunch period.

Overtime may be required to maintain the current workload.

Requirements/Competencies:

• Basic aptitude in mechanical, electrical, & hydraulic disciplines.
• Driver’s license with clear history.
• Ability to work with specialized mechanical & basic hand tools.
• Ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment.
• Ability to operate various electronic technical devices.
• Ability to complete all electronic paperwork within company guidelines.
• Ability to safely use certain chemicals & cleaners.
• Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
• Clean professional appearance & wear complete company uniform including safety boots.

Education and/or Experience:

A Degree or Certificate from a college or technical school; or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Able to communicate effective both verbally & in writing.

Mathematical Skills:

Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations.
