Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join a dynamic team focused on vegetation management for utility corridors. The role emphasizes field patrols, risk assessments, and proactive stakeholder engagement to ensure safe and compliant vegetation control.

The ideal candidate has forestry or natural resources education, GIS and Microsoft Office proficiency, and strong communication skills for interacting with landowners and agencies.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, or tree-related industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software and Microsoft Office; comfort with using an iPhone.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records and maps, review sites for endangered species and habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal, assess tree risk.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: communicate plans and obtain permissions from landowners and agencies.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend sustainable strategies and audit contractor work.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work, report safety concerns, follow safety protocols.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm response and perform other duties as assigned.
