Job summary
Atlas Field Services is seeking a Contract Forester to join our field operations in Athens and Atlanta, GA. This full-time role focuses on vegetation management for utility right-of-way projects, requiring hands-on field work and coordination with landowners and contractors.
The ideal candidate holds a forestry degree, ISA certification, and several years of arborist experience, including utility line clearance or work planning, with strong GPS/GIS knowledge and customer-service skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field is required.
- ISA Certified Arborist or Natural Sciences BS Degree.
- At least 3 years' experience as an inventory/design/quality arborist.
- Minimum 1 year of utility line clearance or work planning experience.
- Fully qualified to relieve a client's arborist.
- Proficient in OM and CM work processes and WMS processes.
- Basic GPS/GIS systems understanding.
Responsibilities
- Inspect rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine maintenance.
- Assist with bid package maps and work manifests.
- Meet with landowners to explain vegetation work.
- Inspect contractor work for compliance with specifications.
- Assist in managing contractors during storm restoration operations.
- Provide support on special utility projects.
