Job summary

Atlas Field Services seeks a Contract Forester to join our Georgia team as a full-time employee. The role focuses on vegetation management, rights-of-way inspections, and coordination with utility projects across the state.

You will work outdoors, assess vegetation conditions, and engage landowners while ensuring safety and quality in field operations. A forestry degree and arborist credentials are preferred, with experience in utility contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field required.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Natural Sciences BS Degree.
• 3+ years’ experience as an inventory arborist, design arborist, or quality arborist.
• 1+ year of utility line clearance or utility work planning experience.
• Fully qualified to relieve a client's arborist.
• Proficient in OM and CM work processes and WMS processes.
• Basic GPS and GIS knowledge.
• Customer service experience required.
• Basic tree identification skills.
• Basic knowledge of electric utility systems.
• Basic knowledge of regional tree species, their growth rates, and failure characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine maintenance activities.
• High utilization of client systems and applications.
• Assist with bid package maps and work manifests.
• Research easement and land rights for widths, rights, and restrictions.
• Meet with landowners to explain vegetation management work.
• Mark works in the field as required.
• Respond to public concerns and questions about the work.
• Assist in developing public relations materials.
• Respond to contractor questions about work specifications.
• Inspect contractor work for compliance with utility specifications.
• Assist in managing contractors during storm restoration operations.
• Support special projects assigned by the utility.
