Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems RF Systems UAS Portfolio seeks a UAS Operations Test Engineer to join our team supporting the integration and test of Tactical Uncrewed Aviation Systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on test engineer with a strong UAS operations background, capable of working independently in lab and field environments.

You’ll test emerging UAS ground control and flight systems, collaborating with government stakeholders to ensure reliable, mission-ready solutions.

Qualifications

BS in a related field and 8–12 years UAS operations experience.
In lieu of degree, HS diploma with 20 years flight ops.
Hands-on experience with various UAS platforms (Air and Payload Operations).
Working knowledge of UAS components.
Knowledge of DCMA 8210-1D processes.
Possession or ability to obtain Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess Secret clearance.
Must reside in Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

Develop test plans, procedures, and detailed technical reports.
Conduct lab, field, and flight testing, including test setup and data collection.
Analyze and troubleshoot system behavior using flight control/test systems and replay utilities.
