Job summary

MYR Group Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to service and repair a variety of fleet equipment at project sites across the service area. Daily duties include preventive maintenance, diagnostic repairs, and timely documentation.

A company vehicle and fuel card are provided, with meals and lodging when travel is required. The role requires hands-on mechanical work, strong safety awareness, and the ability to travel frequently to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Requires 3 years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair; or 4 years via vocational/technical program.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC report.
• Ability to obtain a valid Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of servicing and repairs on fleet equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and schedules.
• Frequent travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Oversee less experienced mechanics when required.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Maintain records of time, materials, equipment condition, and repairs performed.
• Track information in computer software; ensure repair orders and weekly timesheets are complete.
