Job summary

Carolina Cat in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Field Service Fleet Technician to support our Fleet Team with maintenance, installations, and inspections of fleet assets. This on-site role covers a range from SUVs to heavy haul trucks, focusing on preventive maintenance, brake repairs, A/C diagnostics, telematics, DOT inspections, and timely repairs.

You're expected to perform field servicing at company and customer facilities, manage work orders, input repair data, and uphold safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must have earned a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must read, write and communicate in English related to safety rules.
• Must have 5–10 years of on-highway truck repairs/maintenance experience.
• Must have a clean motor vehicle record.
• Must hold a Class B CDL.
• Must travel with possible overnight stays.
• Must be able to use and learn shop tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule at shift start and prep equipment and supplies.
• Order or obtain parts from local suppliers and OEMs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks on fleet vehicles.
• Conduct annual DOT inspections on fleet equipment.
• Install, replace and repair engine components and truck equipment timely.
• Diagnose and repair A/C systems and drivability issues.
• Enter and maintain repair data in company systems and complete paperwork.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and maintain clean appearance of vehicles and equipment.
