Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager for our Fire division. You will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects across commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities.

This is an on-site role focusing on scope, cost, schedule, and safety while meeting customer expectations. You will coordinate with design, permitting, procurement, and field teams to ensure projects progress smoothly from planning to installation,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security.
• 5 years of installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
• PMP certification expected within two years of employment.
• NICET Level II required within one year of employment.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Project.
• Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros.
• Availability for frequent local travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects from setup through closeout.
• Establish local project offices and coordinate project scope, risk identification, project methodology, and resource allocation.
• Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee project progression across design, permits, material delivery, labor scheduling, and field installation.
• Conduct Work in Progress meetings and provide clear project updates to management and customers.
• Present project cycle status, expected results, and closeout progress to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Ensure projects are closed on time, in scope, and aligned with published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
• Coordinate change orders and support margin improvement on every job.
