Job summary

SpaceXAI seeks a fire protection technician to keep fire and life safety systems—sprinklers, suppression, alarms, and extinguishers—in service. This field role involves inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting installation and commissioning for high-density computing environments.

You will collaborate with facilities teams, contractors, and the local fire marshal. The technician ensures the as-built system is installed and maintained; not the design engineer of record.

Qualifications

• 2+ years installing, inspecting, testing, and/or servicing fire protection systems (sprinkler, fire alarm, and/or special suppression)
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate is required
• Willing to travel to site for the shift; travel-to-site technician role, not a design-office role

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire and life safety systems (sprinklers, suppression, alarms, detection, extinguishers) and close out deficiencies
• Support installation, upgrades, and commissioning of fire protection systems: walkdowns, device checkout, punch lists, functional tests, and turnover
• Verify that installed systems stay in working order and that impairments are logged, mitigated, and restored
• Work with facilities teams, fire contractors, and the authority having jurisdiction (fire marshal) on inspections, permits, impairments, and certifications
• Read drawings, submittals, and test reports well enough to follow a job in the field and flag what does not match
• Keep inspection, test, and corrective-action records so audits and AHJ visits have a clean paper trail
• Respond to impairments, leaks, trouble signals, and after-hours issues as the site requires
