Job summary

GEM Plumbing & Heating is hiring a Fire Alarm Technician based out of Lincoln, RI. The role covers service, test, and inspection of fire alarm systems, with travel across RI, MA, and CT.

Ideal candidates will hold Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island Electrical Journeyman License and have industry experience in NFPA 72, NEC, and related codes. Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, coordinating with contractors and customers, and occasional installation duties.

Qualifications

• Must hold Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island Electrical Journeyman License
• High school diploma required; industry experience preferred
• NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA requirements and fire alarm standards knowledge requested
• Experience with fire alarm systems incl. Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Fire-Lite
• Ability to travel within RI, MA, and CT; valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems with limited supervision
• Occasional installation work welcomed but not required
• Potential overtime for emergency calls, nights, and weekends
• Coordinate with contractors, customers, and building staff to manage daily workload
• Identify code issues and make system installation improvement recommendations
• Ensure thorough troubleshooting and repairs are completed to customer satisfaction
• Maintain high attention to detail and strong work ethic
