Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector I to perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler, and Suppression life safety systems across customer sites. This field-based role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely documentation of all activities.

Responsibilities include inspecting systems, performing maintenance, and ensuring readiness of customer sites while adhering to schedules.

Qualifications

• One year of installation or service experience testing fire alarm equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain NICET I within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire alarm systems for existing and new customer sites.
• Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on life safety product lines.
• Complete accurate documentation for all work performed using provided tools.
• Follow verbal and written instructions while meeting schedules and customer needs.
• Carry and move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs as needed for the job.
• Work at heights or in unusual positions, including ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment.
