Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. This role goes beyond basic installations, with OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and troubleshooting fiber links in diverse field environments.

You will be a 1099 contractor, travel nationwide within your territory, and be paid hourly on site. A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and fiber tools are required.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and certification equipment.
• Understanding of single- and multi-mode fiber systems.
• Ability to read diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints.
• Minimum 1 year in Fiber, IT, or Telecom, or 5+ years field experience.
• Owning a reliable vehicle and valid driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical methods.
• Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source tests; certify fibers.
• Identify faults and continuity; document results.
• Inspect and clean connectors; replace jumpers.
• Install and test single-mode and multi-mode cabling.
• Establish documentation of test results and project deliverables.
• Work independently across diverse environments; maintain professionalism.
• Respond to service requests within coverage territory; not full-time.
