Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. Expect hands-on work including OTDR testing, fusion splicing, fault diagnosis, and fiber certification across diverse facilities.

We offer flexible field deployments, a 1099 contractor role with on-site hourly pay, and travel pay within an approximate 80-mile radius. Bring your fiber tools, vehicle, and readiness for field work in multiple environments.

Qualifications

• Must have fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including but not limited to:
• Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical techniques; select techs who already know how to
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables
• Work independently across environments including retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecom, data center
• Maintain professionalism with clients and project stakeholders
• Be available to accept service requests within your coverage territory depending on availability, NOT FULL TIME
