Job summary

JDH Contracting Inc. is seeking a Fiber Laborer to support day-to-day field operations across aerial, underground, and maintenance activities in Plainfield, IN. The role involves site preparation, material handling, and safe work practices in outdoor environments.

You will assist fiber crews, handle tools, and help with exposure of utilities as directed, with a focus on teamwork and safety. A physical role with potential CDL consideration and OSHA 10 preferred.

Qualifications

• Physically fit to work in varying outdoor conditions.
• Able to lift 50–75 lbs and maneuver heavy materials.
• Proficient with basic hand tools and safe handling practices.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions within a team.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Site preparation, cleaning, and organizing the work area.
• General labor support for aerial and underground fiber construction tasks.
• Ground support for crews, overhead or underground operations.
• Loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment.
• Assist with safety, tool use, and routine maintenance of equipment.
