Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Service Tech I in Smyrna, TN. You will perform maintenance and minor repairs to ensure equipment safety and reliability for customers daily.

Use your diesel, automotive or mechanical skills while following procedures, with opportunities to advance in the Service Department and deliver outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines, Vacuum Trucks, AC Systems, RV Systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, Plumbing, and tagging of equipment for rental ready status
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Manage and Organize Inventory
• Other duties assigned as needed
