Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is looking for a Service Tech I to perform maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment. You will support safety, quality service, and timely delivery while growing into higher-level technician roles within the service department.

The role emphasizes practical mechanical work, loading/unloading, and accurate reporting of machine conditions to management, with opportunities to advance based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines, Vacuum Trucks, AC Systems, RV Systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools applicable to position
• Basic plumbing knowledge
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, Plumbing, and tagging of equipment for rental ready status
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Manage and Organize Inventory
• Other duties assigned as needed
