Union Pacific Corporation is seeking a Work Equipment Mechanic Field in Proviso, IL. You will inspect and maintain tools, machinery, and vehicles, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate tasks within the engineering team to uphold safety and reliability across North America.

The role requires a valid driver's license, strong safety focus, and the ability to read schematics. A CDL may be needed; probationary training includes medical and driving standards. Travel is extensive.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Proficient computer literacy and basic keyboarding skills.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of safety rules and safe work habits.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain tools, roadway machines, vehicles, and equipment.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Organize and track information, and coordinate the work of team members.
• Communicate and collaborate with others orally and in writing, and utilize print and digital information.
• Adhere to company and industry safety rules and procedures.
• Foster positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
