Job summary

Union Pacific is seeking a Work Equipment Mechanic Field in Butler, WI to maintain tools, equipment, and machinery for the Engineering department. You will join a team dedicated to delivering goods safely and efficiently across North America, with mandatory safety and certification steps during probation.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing repairs, coordinating team tasks, and ensuring FRA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Able to read and apply safety rules.
• Proficient with precision and measuring tools.
• Strong arithmetic and data extraction from charts/graphs.
• Experience with diesel or heavy equipment preferred.
• English assessment required before interview.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain tools, roadway machines, vehicles, and equipment.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Organize and track information, and coordinate the work of team members.
• Communicate and collaborate with others orally and in writing.
• Adhere to safety rules, practices, and procedures.
• Foster positive working relationships and handle conflicts effectively.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and FRA requirements.
• Carry out additional assigned duties as necessary.
