Job summary

Stratus Team, LLC is seeking an early-career Technician/Scientist/Engineer/Geologist to join our NYC environmental consulting team. The role emphasizes independent fieldwork, with roughly 80% field tasks and 20% office work such as document preparation and ad hoc projects.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in environmental consulting and a related bachelor’s degree. OSHA HAZWOPER is preferred; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in environmental consulting or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related environmental discipline.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in varied weather conditions.
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards and NYC/regional regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication.
• OSHA HAZWOPER training completion is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Execute field projects independently from mobilization to sampling.
• Assist with office duties: preparing figures, tables, and correspondence.
• Assemble field reports, review analytical data, and present findings.
• Communicate findings to team and client, with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Stay informed on federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Grow within the company and contribute to project teams.
