Job summary

APTIM is seeking an Environmental Scientist for full-time field and office duties, including asbestos, lead, mold assessments, and sampling across sites. Travel is required; average five days per month, with occasional longer stays.

You will write final reports, work in Excel and Word, and collaborate with clients. A valid asbestos license or USEPA AHERA inspector certification is required; some on-site training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and SharePoint Online, with ability to learn new software.
• Willing to travel with overnight trips varying from a few nights to weeks.

Responsibilities

• Execute project scopes to meet schedules and budgets.
• Work independently or on a project team and adapt to changing conditions.
• Assist in report preparation as a team member or lead.
• Interface with client facility personnel, including management.
• Conduct site sampling for environmental health and safety services.
• Perform site assessments up to and including JSA.
• Grow toward Project Manager and contract/business development responsibilities.
• Learn management requirements including cost build-up, multipliers, margins and procedures.
• Field work can be physically challenging in industrial settings.
• Work at heights or in high temperatures may occur.
