Job summary

Apex is seeking an Environmental Scientist to support field inspections and sampling for commercial, industrial, and government clients in the DMV area. You will conduct asbestos-related surveys, water damage assessments, and mold sampling, while preparing technical reports and field data for project conclusions.

We value candidates with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science or Geology, entry-level experience, and certifications like Asbestos Inspector or HAZWOPER.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science or geology.
• Entry-level candidates welcome (0-2 years field sampling/inspections).
• Certifications such as Asbestos Inspector, HAZWOPER, or NIOSH 582 are highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to collect accurate field data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazardous materials building surveys, including asbestos-related inspections and assessments.
• Perform water damage assessments, mold inspections, and mold sampling.
• Support asbestos abatement projects through monitoring and field observations.
• Collect environmental samples (drinking water, radon, air, soil, building materials).
• Gather, analyze, and interpret field data; prepare technical reports.
