Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a part-time as needed (PTAN) Environmental Scientist to join the Resilience Environment team in Soda Springs, Idaho, to support fieldwork at active and inactive mines in southeastern Idaho. The role focuses on environmental monitoring, groundwater and surface water sampling, and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 0-2 years of work experience.
• MSHA 24 hr Surface Miner (preferred)
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40 hr (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Implement and actively participate in a safety-focused field program.
• Perform fieldwork as part of a field team which may include environmental sampling, hydrologic analysis, field data collection and recording of observations.
• Assist with sample preparation and shipment to various laboratories.
• Communicate and work closely with project teams and clients in a team environment.
• Assist with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
• Office work may include task coordination, data compilation, interpretation, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, and scheduling.
• Conduct project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
