AXIA Environmental in Bismarck, ND is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer II with 4–6 years of environmental consulting experience to join our team. You will work on environmental investigations, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects across North Dakota, focusing on oil and gas.

This hands-on role involves field sampling, data analysis, and collaboration with NDDEQ/NDIC, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
4–6 years of professional environmental consulting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Experience conducting environmental field investigations, sampling, and remediation.
Working knowledge of North Dakota environmental regulations and regulatory processes.
Strong technical writing, data interpretation, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently, and collaborate with project teams.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout North Dakota.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
Must reside within commuting distance of Bismarck or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Conduct environmental site assessments, investigations, and remediation activities, including Phase I and II ESAs.
Perform soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling, site inspections, and environmental monitoring.
Support oil and gas projects involving spill response, site characterization, remediation, and reclamation.
Coordinate drilling operations, subcontractors, field activities, and project schedules.
Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports, work plans, and regulatory submittals.
Work with regulatory agencies, including the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) and North Dakota Industrial Commission (NDIC), as applicable.
Assist with project budgets, proposals, client communications, and deliverables.
Maintain accurate field documentation and ensure compliance with company health and safety standards.
