Job summary

AXIA Environmental is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer II to join our Bismarck, ND team. The role focuses on environmental investigations, remediation, and regulatory compliance across North Dakota, with emphasis on oil and gas projects.

You will conduct Phase I/II ESAs, collect soil and water samples, analyze data, and produce reports while coordinating field activities and liaising with state regulators. Hybrid schedule with regional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 4–6 years of professional environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with field investigations, sampling, and remediation.
• Working knowledge of North Dakota environmental regulations and processes.
• Strong writing, data interpretation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently, and collaborate with project teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout North Dakota.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
• Must reside within commuting distance of Bismarck or be willing to relocate.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

4-6 years of professional environmental consulting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

Experience conducting environmental field investigations, sampling, and remediation.

Working knowledge of North Dakota environmental regulations and regulatory processes.

Strong technical writing, data interpretation, and analytical skills.

Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently, and collaborate with project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.

EIT, GIT, PG, or PE designation, as applicable.

Experience with GIS and environmental data management software.
