Job summary

Grid United LLC. is seeking an Environmental Manager/Senior Environmental Manager to support large-scale transmission projects in the desert southwest, with options for remote work in the Southwest or Houston office.

The role involves permitting strategy, environmental planning, and coordination with regulators and tribes. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in environmental compliance and permitting for energy infrastructure, strong leadership, and ability to manage consultants across multiple

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting within the energy sector.
• Experience with large-scale linear infrastructure projects, ideally electric transmission.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, planning, ecology, or related field.
• Ability to communicate with Federal agencies, Tribal governments, state agencies, and land-use planning entities.
• Willingness to travel 15–30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor environmental aspects of large transmission projects.
• Support routing with environmental sensitivities, permitting requirements, and best practices.
• Manage external consultants and coordinate reviews of work products.
• Support, conduct and oversee environmental due diligence for project identification and development.
• Assist with schedule and budget development and track project progress.
• Prepare and interpret reports on biological, cultural, and other environmental resources.
• Coordinate with agencies to ensure NEPA compliance and other permits.
• Lead meetings with contractors, regulatory staff, tribes, and Grid United staff.
