Grid United is seeking an Environmental Manager / Senior Environmental Manager to support multiple large-scale transmission projects across the desert southwest. The role offers remote work in AZ/NM or a Houston office, reporting to the Sr.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting in energy projects
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, planning, ecology, engineering or related field
• Proven track record with permitting and construction support for large energy projects
• Strong written and verbal communication with federal/state agencies and tribes
• Knowledge of NEPA, ESA/NHPA, and state environmental laws
• Familiarity with GIS and land-use planning concepts
• Willingness to travel ~15-30% of time

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor environmental aspects of large, multidisciplinary transmission projects
• Support routing with environmental sensitivities and permitting requirements
• Manage external consultants and coordinate with agencies and tribes
• Lead environmental due diligence and permitting strategy for project development
• Support schedule and budget development and track performance
• Oversee environmental studies and interpret results across multiple topics
• Coordinate NEPA and state environmental policy compliance with internal teams
• Ensure environmental permits and mitigation measures are integrated in construction and operation
• Facilitate meetings with contractors, regulators, tribes, and Grid United staff
