Florida Department of Health in Naples, FL is seeking an Environmental Specialist I to perform regulatory inspections in the OSTDS program, a field role requiring independent work and timely reporting. You will conduct inspections, respond to nuisance complaints, assist with enforcement actions, and enter data into the Environmental Health Database and Health Management System.

A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health/Sciences with 30 credit hours and a valid driver's license are required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 30 credit hours in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or related science.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in heat/humidity.
• Willing to attend out-of-town meetings and training sessions as needed.
• May require work before, during and/or beyond normal hours in the event of a disaster.
• Emergency duty may include working in shelters or responding to disasters.

Responsabilités

• Conducts field inspections in the OSTDS program to ensure compliance with environmental health rules and regulations.
• Responds to nuisance complaints and initiates investigations within EH policy timeframes.
• Assists with enforcement actions and participates in hearings to secure compliance.
• Maintains records of inspections and site visits in EH Database and submits reports to supervisor promptly.
• Performs related duties including document retrieval, transport of plans, and file maintenance.
