Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Engineer Technician in Training for our operations team on a Culpepper, VA project. This full-time role supports field engineers, conducts surveying tasks, and participates in jobsite supervision with on-the-job training.

Ideal candidates may have construction experience; overtime and weekend work are required. Travel readiness and reliable transportation are essential as work occurs on active job sites across weather conditions.

• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
• Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments, auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• This position will include on the job training.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools. Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and lead team to complete daily tasks at the jobsite.
