Job summary

Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is seeking an Engineering/Planning/Surveying Technician II to perform on-site construction inspections for Capital Construction Projects in Kent County, Delaware. You will take quantity measurements, verify compliance with DelDOT specifications, and represent the department in field decisions.

The role requires routine interpretation of plans, data analysis, surveying data collection, and collaboration with engineers and inspectors.

Qualifications

Six months experience in applied mathematical computations.
Knowledge of reviewing construction plans and details.
Knowledge of interpreting construction plans and details.
Knowledge of using an automated information system to enter/update/report data.
Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Inspect infrastructures to ensure compliance with design plans and specs; document issues.
Design/review project/site layouts and related drawings.
Record inspection data and generate reports and maps.
Conduct studies and analyze data to support plan development.
Operate CAD tools and enter data using information systems.
Read and interpret plans and blueprints; perform related duties.
