Databricks is seeking a Field Engineering Manager to lead a team of pre-sales Solutions Architects for the Manufacturing segment. You will partner with Sales and other Field Engineering teams to drive revenue, customer success, and strategic data infrastructure decisions.

You will hire, train, and mentor a high-caliber team, ensure robust hiring pipelines, and maintain a culture of continuous learning and strong collaboration across Engineering, Product, and Customer Success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading technical pre-sales teams
• 7+ years in the Data + AI space with a technical product
• Deep technical understanding of Data + AI impact across industries
• Ability to earn the trust of Engineering leadership at Databricks
• Experience as trusted advisor to technical executives guiding data infrastructure decisions
• Experience hiring and ramping pre-sales professionals, with performance improvement plans

The Databricks Field Engineering team helps customers get the most value from their data and AI. We are hiring a Solutions Architecture leader who can build a strong team culture and turn their team's vision into an effective strategy. As a Field Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of pre-sales Solutions Architects (SAs) for the Manufacturing Segment, covering enterprise software, big data and analytics, data engineering, data science, and AI. You will partner with Sales and other Field Engineering segments to grow revenue and help customers succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, train, grow, and manage a bar-raising team of Solutions Architects at a high-growth company
• Make customers extremely successful with Databricks and deliver outsized value to their businesses
• Maintain a robust hiring pipeline at all times
• Build relationships across the business to support customers and the team
• Partner with sales leadership to hit sales and consumption targets while ensuring customer success
• Keep your team ahead of the technical curve through continuous learning and advanced knowledge of the data and AI stack
• Lead the team in best practices for technical qualification, proofs of concept, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations
• Foster a positive team culture and strong working relationships between Field Engineering, Sales, and other internal partners

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and enablement
• 7+ years of experience in the Data + AI space with a technical product (data warehousing, big data, data science, machine learning, or AI)
• Deep technical understanding of the impact Data + AI can have across industry segments
• Technical competence to earn the trust of Engineering talent and leadership at Databricks
• Experience as a trusted advisor to technical executives guiding strategic data infrastructure decisions
• Experience hiring pre-sales professionals, ramping them up, promoting them, and addressing performance issues with improvement plans
• Experience working with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success
• Demonstrated architectural influence, including reviewing complex architectures and guiding teams and customers toward scalable solutions
