Job summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Field Engineering Intern for our project site in Abilene, Texas. The internship runs May through August 2027 and offers hands-on experience on real projects with mentorship and learning opportunities.

You will support field/project engineers and superintendents, assist with safety and quality audits, read drawings, log submittals and RFIs, and help with surveying and layout while developing in renewable energy and general construction management skills.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing a degree related to construction (e.g., CM/CE/CT).
• Desire to pursue Solar/Renewable Energy and construction project management.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and 18+.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
• Conduct safety and quality audits
• Read drawings and specifications
• Log submittals and process RFIs
• Assist with surveying and project layout
• Maintain field drawings and records
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
• Attend project meetings
• Prepare memos and contracts
• Assist with documentation and pricing efforts
