Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Division in the Florence, SC area.

You will assist the Foreman with structure layout, manage field purchase orders, and perform engineering duties to support construction planning. Responsibilities include maintaining project logs and schedules, processing RFIs, preparing and reviewing shop drawings, and maintaining as-built drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant engineering or construction field.
• Strong surveying and layout skills and technical writing ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout and field purchase orders.
• Perform engineering duties to support construction planning.
• Maintain and update project logs, schedules, and RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings; maintain as-built drawings.
• Document distribution and meeting minutes; assist with scheduling.
