Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Division in the Milton, FL area. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.

Key duties include assisting the Foreman with structure layout, maintaining logs, processing RFIs, preparing and reviewing shop drawings, and supporting scheduling and documentation throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Surveying and layout experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout and scheduling.
• Field purchase orders and document distribution.
• Engineering duties as assigned for planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs and manage process.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree
