Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Division in the Florence, SC area.

You will assist the Foreman with structure layout, manage field purchase orders, and perform engineering duties to support construction planning. Responsibilities include maintaining project logs and schedules, processing RFIs, preparing and reviewing shop drawings, and maintaining as-built drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant engineering or construction field.
• Strong surveying and layout skills and technical writing ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.

Requirements:

• Surveying/layout, technical writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
