Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking a Field Engineer to support utility construction projects. You will conduct precise site surveys, verify installed utilities, and draft accurate as-built drawings to support project delivery.

Working closely with project management and field teams, you will track daily production, monitor quality, prepare end-of-day reports, and communicate findings to clients. The role requires a Civil Engineering/Surveying degree and 2+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management/Surveying or related field.
• Experience with survey equipment and CAD tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of utilities and structures using GPS and total station.
• Draft and update as-built drawings to verify conformance with drawings.
• Perform inspections to ensure materials, workmanship and quality standards.
• Track daily construction activities and compare progress to goals.
• Prepare daily/end-of-day reports and document findings for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with field teams and supervision to resolve issues on site.
• Maintain current field documentation and redlines for distribution.
• Identify and escalate field issues to keep projects on schedule.
