Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking a Field Engineer to support utility construction projects through precise site surveys, as-built drawings, and quality control. You will work with project management and field teams on active sites to ensure accuracy, timely data delivery, and conformance with drawings.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or surveying background, proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and 2+ years in utility construction or surveying.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in civil engineering related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and CAD drafting tools.
• 2+ years in utility construction, surveying or field engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of utilities and structures using GPS and total station.
• Draft and update as-built drawings and verify conformance with drawings.
• Perform inspections to ensure materials and workmanship meet standards.
• Track daily construction activities and compare progress to goals.
• Provide daily production reports and assist in schedule adjustments.
• Coordinate with field teams and supervision to resolve issues.
• Conduct quality and safety inspections and report deficiencies.
• Prepare end-of-day reports on progress and status.
