Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking a Field Engineer to support utility construction projects by conducting precise site surveys, verifying installed utilities, and drafting accurate as-built drawings for conformance with design documents.

You will track daily production, monitor safety and quality standards, and coordinate with project management, field teams, and clients on active sites to ensure timely, compliant delivery of information and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with GPS, total station, and data collectors.
• Excellent communication and coordination with field teams and clients.
• 2+ years of utility construction, field engineering, or surveying.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise field surveys of utilities and structures.
• Draft and update as-built drawings; verify conformance with drawings.
• Inspect materials and workmanship; document deficiencies.
• Track daily construction activities and compare progress to goals.
• Provide daily production reports and assist in schedule adjustments.
• Coordinate daily with field teams and supervision.
• Maintain field documentation and redlines.
• Prepare end-of-day reports summarizing progress, issues, and schedule status.
