Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Office/Field Engineer for Underground Construction to support diverse underground projects. Based in Omaha, NE or other locations, you will work with district estimating, quantity takeoffs, and bid close-out, contributing to critical tunneling and transport projects.

The role emphasizes safety, leadership, travel readiness, and collaboration across disciplines, with opportunities for career growth within a large, established construction family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field (civil, mining, mechanical, geotechnical, construction management) is required.
• 2+ years of construction/engineering work experience, preferably underground/tunneling.
• Proven leadership, strong communication, planning, and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations and takeoff measures for materials and work.
• Assist in preparing work plans, packages, and daily labor timesheets.
• Support field surveying, layout, elevation control points, and as-built data.
• Contribute to Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and safety reviews.
• Coordinate material deliveries and plan work groups and schedules.
• Supervise field operations and ensure timely, safe project delivery.
