Job summary

NineStar Connect is seeking a Field Engineer to design, build, and sustain critical communications infrastructure for our members. You’ll configure, install, and troubleshoot broadband and voice network equipment while supporting Central Office facilities and network operations through careful documentation and testing.

You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, vendors, and customers to deliver reliable service, perform on-call rotations, and promote a safe, results-oriented work

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent certs in IT/telecom/electronics.
• 3–5 years in telecom or networking field.
• Experience with TCP/IP, VoIP, GPON, Cisco gear, and Central Office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DSLAM, GPON, MetaSwitch, and other telecom equipment.
• Support broadband, voice, and hosted PBX services through installation, diagnostics and repair.
• Assist Network Engineers with equipment deployment, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Provide Tier II network and Tier III voice/internet support.
• Collaborate with vendors and carriers to resolve network issues.
• Maintain Central Office equipment and assist with facility upgrades.
• Perform network audits and document technical details.
• Support Outside Plant Technicians with escalated issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
