Job summary

NineStar Connect is seeking a Field Engineer to build, maintain, and support critical communications infrastructure in Central Indiana. You will configure and troubleshoot broadband and voice networks, support field operations, and help ensure reliable service for members.

The role involves working with DSLAM, GPON, MetaSwitch, and Central Office equipment, collaborating with engineers, technicians, vendors, and customers, and participating in on‑call rotations to deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical certifications.
• 3–5 years in telecommunications or related field.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, VoIP, GPON, Cisco networking, or Central Office equipment.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DSLAM, GPON, MetaSwitch, and other telecom equipment.
• Support broadband, voice, and hosted PBX services through installation and repair.
• Assist Network Engineers with deployment, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Provide Tier II/III network and voice support.
• Collaborate with vendors and carriers to resolve issues.
• Maintain Central Office equipment and support facility upgrades.
• Perform network audits and document technical details.
• Support Outside Plant Technicians with escalated issues.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for after-hours support.
• Promote a safe, collaborative work environment.
