Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Field Engineer to join our onsite team in Sterling, VA, supporting precision in steel construction projects.

You will use surveying tools to collect data, verify alignment, and prepare as-built drawings while collaborating with trades and maintaining a safety-centric culture. Responsibilities include data collection on job sites, coordinating with crane and steel placement, and leveraging Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural steel surveying and erection preferred.
• Familiarity with total station or similar surveying equipment.
• Ability to travel to field sites and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Use surveying equipment to collect and present accurate data for field use, ensuring precision in building control lines and column placement.
• Promote a strong safety culture while emphasizing Safety, Quality, and Production.
• Travel to job sites for data collection.
• Verify elevation and alignment of embeds; provide as-built drawings.
• Utilize Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Deliver information for column and steel installation alignment and create anchor rod surveys.
