Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Field Engineer to join the onsite team. You will ensure precision and accuracy in steel construction projects, traveling to job sites as needed, with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities include data collection, column placement, and producing as-built drawings using Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and MS Office. Great benefits and competitive salary accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in structural steel erection preferred.
• Experience surveying slopes/grades/lines for miscellaneous metals.
• Knowledge of using total station or similar surveying equipment.
• Availability for travel to field sites.
• Ability to work at heights in an aerial lift or on elevated steel floors, with strong safety adherence.
• Understanding of AISC requirements for building orientation and alignment.
• Excellent attention to detail for data collection and line accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration with team members and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Utilize surveying equipment to collect and present accurate data for field use and establish column placement and anchor rod locations.
• Promote safety culture and prioritize Safety, Quality, and Production.
• Travel to job sites for data collection.
• Verify elevation and alignment of embeds; provide as-built drawings.
• Use Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and MS Office applications.
• Deliver information for column and steel installation alignment and produce as-built drawings when needed.
• Coordinate with trades to ensure steel placement accuracy.
• Assist with miscellaneous steel placement such as stairs and shafts; aid crane beam installation.
