Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Field Engineer to join onsite teams, ensuring precision in data collection for steel construction projects.

You will perform surveying, establish column placements, and coordinate with crane and trades, while prioritizing safety and quality on diverse field sites. Travel to multiple job sites is involved, with competitive pay and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel erection preferred.
• Experience surveying slopes, grades and wall lines for miscellaneous metals.
• Knowledge of using total station or similar surveying equipment.
• Willingness to travel to field sites.
• Ability to work at heights in an aerial lift or on elevated steel floors with safety protocols.
• Understanding of AISC requirements for building orientation and alignment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Use surveying equipment to collect and present accurate data for field use and establish column placement and anchor rod locations.
• Promote safety culture focusing on Safety, Quality, and Production.
• Travel to job sites for data collection.
• Verify elevation and alignment of embeds; provide as-built drawings.
• Use software like Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and MS Office.
• Deliver information for column and steel installation alignment and produce as-built drawings.
• Maintain building plumbness and square; coordinate with other trades.
• Assist with miscellaneous steel placement such as monumental stair and shaft steel.
• Coordinate crane beam installation and resolve intersections with other trades.
