Job summary

Crofton, a leader in marine construction and related services, is seeking a Field Engineer to support Project Managers and Superintendents on on-site projects in Virginia. You will coordinate resources, review schedules, and ensure documentation aligns with the QC plan.

The role emphasizes safety, effective communication, and hands-on problem solving as projects move from planning to field execution, with opportunities to grow technical and supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• Formal training in construction management or related field is preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
• Experience in marine construction is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with project crews to review schedule and ensure materials and resources are available.
• Coordinate on-site subcontractors and review daily timecards.
• Maintain up-to-date construction documents, drawings, and QC records at the job site.
• Assist Project Manager with technical queries and drafting RFIs and transmittals.
• Procure miscellaneous materials and tools and arrange surveying and staking.
• Provide layouts and verify work against drawings and specifications.
• Maintain as-builts and red-lined drawings; support safety compliance and reporting.
