Job summary

SPC Construction is seeking a Field Engineer to lead field activities, ensuring construction work complies with engineering standards, codes and contract specifications. You will review drawings, schedules and budgets daily with project crews and coordinate with engineers.

You will assess risk elements, provide technical input for work plans, approve timecards, and manage permits and inspections on site. This role offers tangible opportunities to impact project outcomes and grow within a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
• Construction engineering experience or knowledge is required.
• Beginner knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
• Collects, coordinates and analyzes shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data to ensure quality and compliance.
• Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling; identifies risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluates daily production, schedule and budget projections and documents daily activities.
• Remits accurate project quantity input and controls using assigned project cost coding; collaborates with finance on employee time, materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
• Reviews and approves daily timecards; resolves inquiries with payroll and supervisors as needed.
• Reviews project specifications for quality assurance and manages certificates, inspections and documentation.
• Plans field layout on site with crews and engineers; ensures utilities and lines are marked; manages permits.
• Assists the development of design drawings and provides technical input as needed.
• Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews.
